I have already had some conversations with shopkeepers about this. The bigger the chain, the easier it is for them to swallow the big rent districts in Italy's city centers.Irenehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08152290714490453471noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2794848592364507915.post-34942032648444062222011-03-03T10:55:42.132+01:002011-03-03T10:55:42.132+01:00As a kid, I watched all the small shops in my town...As a kid, I watched all the small shops in my town close up due to chains. I hate to say it, but I see the same patterns emerging here in Italy. People bypassing the small shops for the convenience of larger ones...etc. and I live in the south! Honestly I don't know if it can be stopped...we can hope and we can make sure to shop in the small places whenever possible. Suppliers start to favor the large places and pretty soon the small ones are priced out. I don't have an answer. Perhaps some sort of financial advantage from the government, that's all I can think of.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2794848592364507915.post-14694923154602599952011-03-01T14:02:43.338+01:002011-03-01T14:02:43.338+01:00I agree hopefully the Italians will discover these...I agree hopefully the Italians will discover these places are just not the same!LindyLouMachttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12282788551449445133noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2794848592364507915.post-61026580655265418852011-02-27T19:24:00.822+01:002011-02-27T19:24:00.822+01:00Anne, I fully agree and hope the same.Anne, I fully agree and hope the same.Irenehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08152290714490453471noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2794848592364507915.post-64944588745425133572011-02-27T17:10:25.182+01:002011-02-27T17:10:25.182+01:00NOOOOOO!
